A coach with driver to Diksmuide: the Yser Tower, the Trench of Death and the German cemetery at Vladslo, with coach parking for groups.
Diksmuide lies on the river Yser, where the front stood still for years in the First World War. The Yser Tower, with the Yser Museum inside, stands on the edge of the town. Along the Yser lies the Trench of Death, a trench the Belgian army dug into the Yser dyke in 1915, and in Vladslo the German military cemetery with Käthe Kollwitz's Grieving Parents.
For a school group or a remembrance trip, Diksmuide is therefore rarely the only stop. The coach takes the group from the tower to the trenches and on to Nieuwpoort or Ypres. On the Grote Markt in Diksmuide there is time for lunch in between.
Enter your trip and you will see the prices of the participating coach companies side by side, including companies from the Netherlands that drive in Belgium. The Flemish coach companies on this page are not taking part yet: they are listed without a price with your trip, and you can invite them from there.
Driving from the depot is part of the price of every trip, so a company that is close by usually starts lower. These 14 are within 50 km:
Measured as the crow flies from the centre. Which one is cheapest also depends on the vehicle and the date.
There is no fixed price per town. What you pay depends on the distance, how long the driver works, the type of coach and the day. Driving from the company’s depot is part of the price too: a company close by usually starts lower.
Enter your trip in the form at the top and within 1 minute you will see the prices of the participating coach companies, without obligation.
If you visit the Yser Tower with a group, also book the coach park on the museum's website: it is available by reservation only. Until 30 June 2027 the IJzerdijk road is interrupted for the construction of a bridge; have the coach company check the route to the Trench of Death. Put the other stops of the day in your request as stops, so the coach company can work out the route and the driver's hours.
As the source puts it, with the day we read it. A municipality can change a rule or a spot: check the source’s page again just before your trip, and agree the spot with your coach company.
