When is a coach the right choice, and when not?

A coach is the standard from about forty people, and for almost any trip that takes longer than an hour. Luggage under the floor, reclining seats and, in most versions, a toilet: that makes it suitable for trips of several days and for travel abroad. If you're travelling with fewer than forty people, you pay for seats that stay empty and a midibus is cheaper.

Where a coach runs into trouble is space: twelve to thirteen metres long and well over three and a half metres high doesn't fit into every street or under every barrier. Look into that beforehand, not only at the pick-up point but at the destination too.

What to look out for with a coach

Twelve to thirteen metres long: check that the coach can stand at both your pick-up and drop-off point.
Most have a toilet, but not all. Filter on it if it matters to your group.
For a trip abroad: check that this coach and driver are equipped for it.
