      Getting to the airport

      • De Lijn runs from the sub-municipalities directly into the airport bus station, just below the arrivals hall on level 0; escalators and lifts take you to the departures hall.

      A low-emission zone?

      • Zaventem has no low-emission zone: Antwerp and Ghent are currently the only Flemish cities with such a zone.

      On into Brussels

      • The low-emission zone covers the entire Brussels-Capital Region, the 19 municipalities; the Ring and some access roads to park-and-ride car parks are outside it.
      • A diesel coach must be at least Euro 6 to drive in the zone without a fine; since 1 January 2026 Euro 5 no longer qualifies.
      • For a vehicle that does not qualify, you can buy a day pass or in certain cases get an exemption.

      A coach at the terminal

      • In the zone in front of the terminal, besides the free drop-off for departing passengers, are the bus station, the taxi zone and the coaches.
      • During the 2018 works, the coach car park was moved to another place nearby.
      • Stopping for longer than 10 minutes in the drop-off zone is not allowed; the press release does not say whether that also applies to a coach.

      Can the coach wait if our flight is delayed?

      Agree that with the coach company in advance. Give the flight number, so the driver can follow the arrival.

      Where does a coach stop at Brussels Airport?

      According to Brussels Airport, the bus station, the taxi zone and the place for coaches are in one zone in front of the terminal, together with the free drop-off for departing passengers; the coach car park is nearby. That is in a press release from the airport from 2018, and things may have changed since. Have the coach company check the place, and give it your flight number.

      Does the coach have to meet a low-emission zone in Zaventem?

      Not in Zaventem itself. If the coach goes on into Brussels, it does: the whole Brussels region is a zone, and a diesel coach must be at least Euro 6 there.
