School trip to ZOO Antwerpen by coach

The zoo is in the middle of Antwerp, next to Central Station. That makes it different from a theme park in the countryside: the coach drives into the city, drops the class at the entrance on Koningin Astridplein, and then goes to park elsewhere. At the end of the day it comes back there to collect the class.

Driving to Antwerp by coach means driving into a low-emission zone. The rules also apply to buses and coaches, and a coach with a foreign number plate first has to register. A coach company that often drives in Antwerp knows which of its coaches may enter.

For a guided tour or a school menu, book with the zoo no later than three weeks in advance. Without a tour or a menu and paying at the ticket desk, booking is not compulsory but is recommended.

The low-emission zone in Antwerp

Antwerp and Ghent are currently the only Flemish cities with a low-emission zone.
The access rules also apply to buses and coaches (category M2 or M3).
A low-emission zone applies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
