      Our advice for 50 people

Above 35 people, a coach is the standard choice — plenty of luggage space and comfortable on longer trips.

At 50 people the choice narrows

This many coaches at the affiliated companies have at least 50 seats:

      42coaches for a group of 49at 18 companies
41coaches for your group of 50at 18 companies
34coaches if there were 51 of youat 16 companies

Larger groups can also travel with several coaches from the same company; we include that as soon as you fill in your trip.

      Which coach suits 50 people?

A comparison of the capacity per type of coach. The type that best suits your group stands out. Click a bar for more about that type.

Which size do you choose for 50 people?

Fifty people is the size the coach was made for: forty to sixty-three seats, luggage under the floor and usually a toilet on board. There's nothing in between to choose from, and that's exactly what makes this group size simple. The difference isn't in the type but in the vehicle itself: year of manufacture, legroom, whether there's Wi-Fi and power sockets, and whether there's a fridge on board.

That's listed per vehicle in the offer. Two midibuses are almost always more expensive for fifty people, because you pay two drivers for exactly the same trip.

What does a coach for 50 people cost?

A price without your trip would be a guess for 50 people, so it is not shown here. What you pay mainly depends on four things:

      • The coach. For 50 people we recommend a coach; 41 coaches at the affiliated companies have at least 50 seats. If a group of 50 does not fit in one coach, we calculate a combination of coaches from the same company.
      • The trip. How long the coach is on the road with your 50 people, how far it drives, and how far the coach company has to travel from its base to reach you.
      • The day. If your 50 people travel on a Saturday, a Sunday or public holiday, or at night, our standard rate adds a surcharge.
      • The month. For 50 people our standard rate is 15% higher in July and August, and 10% lower in January and February.

For 50 people, the prices page shows four trips with a price: school trip, christmas market, ski trip and city break. See the example trips with a price.

Work out what a coach for 50 people costs

      Practical points for 50 people

Fifty people is the size a coach is built for: 35 to 66 seats, a luggage hold under the floor, reclining seats and usually a toilet on board. That puts you comfortably within a single vehicle and you don't have to split the group anywhere. From this size on it does pay to book early: the number of coaches in the Netherlands is limited, and in spring they're all out at the same time on school trips.

What to look out for with 50 people

      • A full coach doesn't get on and off in a minute. With a tight schedule, allow some extra time at every stop, and agree on a fixed pick-up point where the coach is actually allowed to stop.
      • Parking is a real issue at this size. A coach can't go everywhere; check at your destination where a coach may load and unload, and whether there's a parking space for it.
      • On a long trip the law requires a second driver. That's included in the price when it applies, but it's good to know why a distant destination costs more than the kilometres alone would suggest.
      Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about transport for 50 people

Does a group of 50 fit in a single coach?

Yes. A coach has 35 to 66 seats, so 50 people fit easily, with room to spare for group leaders or luggage on empty seats.

How far in advance should I book a coach for 50 people?

The sooner the better, especially in spring and summer. In that period many coaches are booked up with school trips and company outings.

Is there a toilet on board for 50 people?

In most coaches, yes. It isn't a given, so put it in your request if it matters to your group.

When is a second driver needed?

On a trip that takes longer than a driver is allowed to drive in a day. Those are the legal driving and rest times and there's no room to bend them; for a distant destination you'll see it reflected in the offer.

Where can a coach with 50 people park?

That varies greatly by destination. Many attractions and hotels have a designated coach parking area; in city centres it's often only getting on and off at a designated spot. Check with your destination and pass it on to the coach company.

What does it cost to hire a coach for 50 people?

That depends on your trip: how far and how long, on which day and in which month. For 50 people we recommend a coach. Fill in your route and date, and within a minute you see what coach companies charge for your trip.
