Which size do you choose for 30 people?

Thirty people sits comfortably in midibus territory: that goes up to thirty-five seats, so you still have a few seats' margin. That's useful, because with thirty sign-ups one or two more often turn up. A party bus also comes in this size, but then it's about an outing, not transport from A to B. A coach is another option, and on a long trip sometimes even the more logical one: more luggage space, often a toilet on board and a quieter ride on the motorway. For a short city trip that's unnecessary, and you do pay for it.

If your group could still grow, check now what a coach would cost: the price difference per person at this step up is often smaller than expected. What you don't get as standard in a midibus is a luggage hold under the floor and a toilet on board; a coach usually has both.

For a day trip in the Netherlands that makes little difference; for a trip of several days with suitcases it matters all the more.

What to look out for with 30 people

Thirty people with suitcases is the classic reason to go for a coach after all. Judge it by your luggage, not your numbers: the seats will fit, the suitcases won't always.
For a trip of several days, ask about a toilet on board. A midibus rarely has one, and then you depend on stops along the way.
For 30 people a vehicle is often still available at short notice; above 50 that gets harder. That's a reason you can plan a little more calmly at this size, but not to wait until the last minute in high season.
