When is a minibus the right choice, and when not?

A minibus is the right choice as long as your group stays under sixteen people and the luggage is limited: hand luggage, a bag or one suitcase per person. It can get to places a bigger vehicle can't, such as a residential street, a driveway or a city centre closed to through traffic. In practice that often counts for more than the price difference.

What a minibus isn't meant for: a trip of several days with full suitcases, a group that could still grow beyond sixteen, and a journey where a toilet on board matters. For those three, a midibus or a coach is the better option.

What to look out for with a minibus

Count group leaders too: sixteen includes everyone who takes a seat.
The luggage goes behind the back seat, not under the floor. Say what needs to come along.
A toilet on board isn't part of this type; on a longer trip, plan a stop.
Ask about the layout if someone needs to sit at the front: the rear seats are often a bench.
