Work out your shuttle

No price: the coach company works out what a shuttle costs.

How it works

How a shuttle works

The coaches run a fixed loop between two places, taking turns. The more coaches, the shorter the wait for the next one. One round trip is there, back, and getting on and off at both ends.

How to request

How to request a shuttle

  1. 1Enter your trip as a returnFrom where the guests get on to where they need to go, with the first run out and the last run back.
  2. 2How many travel at the same timeWith two coaches of fifty seats, you enter a hundred.
  3. 3Say that it is a shuttleWhen you make the booking request, under Special requirements: the two places, from what time until what time, how often, and how many guests in total.
  4. 4The coach company works it outThe coach company then gives you its own price for the shuttle. You'll see it on your price overview.

Good to know: the amount you see straight away is for one trip there and back. The coach company works out the shuttle itself for you.

Agree on this in advance

  • Agree where the coach stops at both ends, and whether it is allowed to wait there
  • Decide on the first and last run, and how often a coach needs to go
  • When you make the booking request, say it is a shuttle, with the number of guests and the times

The driver

The driver is shuttling, and that counts as driving

On an ordinary day trip the coach stands still for most of the day. On a shuttle it is driving almost all the time: after four and a half hours of driving the driver takes a 45-minute break, and drives at most nine hours a day. If your shuttle lasts longer, ask the coach company how it covers that break: with an extra coach, or with a second driver.

To scale: at most 9 hours of driving, a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, and at least 9 hours of rest within 24 hours (normally 11). Waiting counts as work.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about a shuttle service

Can I request a shuttle service through the form?

Yes, but not as a shuttle. Enter the trip as a return between the two places, with the time of the first run out and the last run back, and when you make the booking request, mention under Special requirements that it is a shuttle. The coach company works it out itself and gives you its own price.

Is the amount on my price overview the price of the shuttle?

No. That amount is for one trip there and back, with waiting in between. A shuttle drives much more. The amount that counts is the one the coach company gives you afterwards.

How many coaches do I need for a shuttle?

That depends on the number of guests, how long one round trip takes and how quickly everyone needs to be there. The calculator works it out for you, without a price.

Work out your shuttle

How long can a driver run a shuttle without a break?

After four and a half hours of driving he takes a 45-minute break, and he drives at most nine hours a day. On a shuttle he is driving almost all the time, so a long shuttle needs a second driver or an extra coach.

Is the price estimate I see final?

No, it is a price estimate based on your route and group size, not a confirmation of availability. The coach company itself confirms the final price and availability after you have sent a no-obligation booking request.

Does it cost anything to request a booking?

No, requesting a booking is always free and without obligation. You are not committed to anything until the coach company has confirmed the final price and availability and you agree.
