      A festival to Oktoberfest (Munich)

Written and checked by Martijn Smeets, founder of BusOffer.com. Content last updated: September 2026.

Oktoberfest in Munich draws thousands of Dutch visitors every year, often in groups of friends, clubs or company outings. The usual format is a weekend trip by coach, with an overnight journey there and back to keep travel time down.

      • The whole group travels there and back together; nobody has to stay sober to drive
      • A party atmosphere on board is possible with a party bus
      • Fixed pick-up and drop-off times, no hassle with parking all over the place

      Who it is for

      Who is Oktoberfest for?

      • Children under 6 are not allowed in the festival tents from 20:00, not even with their parents.
      • Pushchairs are not allowed on the grounds all day on Saturdays and on 3 October, and from 18:00 on the other days.
      • The city's youth office recommends a weekday afternoon with children; at weekends it fills up quickly.
      • Tuesday is family day, until 19:00.

Our advice: If children under 6 are coming along, plan the visit for a weekday afternoon and make sure they are out of the tent before eight in the evening.

      Before you send a request

      • Ask whether stops along the way are possible
      • Check whether the coach may stop or pick up close to the festival entrance

Where does a coach park near Oktoberfest (Munich)?

At a festival the coach parking is usually outside the site, and the queue when leaving is often longer than when arriving. Agree a time and a place, not just a time.

A designated coach parking areaMost attractions and events have a separate area for coaches, often a little further to walk but with guaranteed room for a large vehicle.
A P+R (park and ride) site or car park on the edgeJust outside the crowds, with more room to turn and to wait. Handy if the driver has to stay somewhere after dropping off the group.

These are types of places, not addresses. Exactly where a coach may stand at your destination is something the coach company knows for your date.
