In 1988, with the takeover of the taxi companies Jellema and Siesling, came the move into coaches and bus transport, and in 1996 the company moved to Franeker, where it is now on the Marconistraat. Since 1 February 2025 Kooistra Reizen has been part of Koninklijke Jan de Wit, while the depot in Franeker remains. Through that partnership it has access to a shared fleet of more than 170 coaches.
The company runs day trips, school trips, company outings and multi-day group trips abroad, and carries pupils for municipalities and school boards in the northern Netherlands. The fleet ranges from Mercedes-Benz coaches with 50 to 62 seats and a toilet to Sprinter taxi vans for 8 to 16 people and a sedan for executive transport. The coaches have air conditioning, a fridge, coffee and tea facilities and TV/DVD, among other things. Kooistra Reizen states that it is ISO 9001 certified.
